We are sorry to inform you that the Taylor 5k scheduled for March 26, 2022 has been cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. If you have any questions, please reach out to us at
georgiaprojectls@gmail.com or 619-227-6986.
Join us at the starting line to knock out Aplastic Anemia in honor of Taylor Brown. Taylor was diagnosed back in the spring and has been a true warrior between treatments, blood transfusions, surgeries, bone marrow transplant and clinic visits.
Taylor received a bone marrow transplant from her baby sister Alexis. Both girls took fear head on and made their family just that much stronger. Taylor continues to go to weekly clinics in Atlanta! Due to the nature of this condition, the family is staying at the Ronald McDonald House.
This race isn’t just to show support to the Brown family, but it is an opportunity to bring awareness to Aplastic Anemia, the need to donate blood and to register to be a bone marrow donor.
This race is open to all families big or small! All donations will be made through Project Lifting Spirits Inc., a 501(c)(3). The Brown Family would like 25% of the proceeds to go to the Fisher House of Augusta to help with the families of Veterans that are staying at the VA Hospital, 25% of the proceeds to the Georgia War Veteran’s Hospital and for the other 50% of the proceeds will be going to the meal fund at the Atlanta Ronald McDonald House where Taylor stayed for 2 months.
START/FINISH
The 5k run will start and finish at Mill Village Trailhead (109 Eve St., Augusta, GA 30904) and go on the canal path. This route will be primarily concrete with some gravel and dirt. Course is being reviewed.
